Who is Harpeth River Jane Doe?

On March 24, 1976, around 6pm, a fisherman discovered the body of a young girl, aged approximately 14 to 17, entangled on a dead tree in the Harpeth River near a bridge on McCrory Lane. The victim was found without a top and with unbuttoned jeans. A preliminary examination indicated that she had passed away 18 to 20 hours prior to discovery. The cause of death was determined to be drowning, although the circumstances surrounding it remain undetermined.

On March 25, 1976, the Nashville Metro Police released a sketch of the girl, created based on a post-mortem photograph. Unfortunately, they only received a few tips despite their efforts.

She was described as being 5'2" tall, weighing 120 pounds, of Hispanic or Native American descent, with long black hair and a mole on her temple. Additionally, she was reported to have been wearing a choker necklace adorned with beads and a white dove, as…
