If you’re a fan of Halloween and haunted houses, you might have heard of McKamey Manor, but what about the man behind this infamous 10-hour ordeal?

Russ McKamey, Owner of McKamey Manor

Meet Russ McKamey

Russ Alan McKamey was born on January 28, 1959, to Joan M. and Ross L. McKamey in Fullerton, California. Joan and Ross were originally from Nebraska but moved to California after Ross retired from the Marine Corps.

In November 1971, after a 17-year marriage, Joan and Ross divorced. Russ stayed with his mother, but the relationship between Russ and his father didn’t seem to suffer from the split, as they continued to do everything together and shared a love for Halloween and all things spooky.

In 1977, Russ graduated from Sunny Hills High School and, following his father’s footsteps, he joined the U.S. Navy around 1979.

In 1983, Russ was part of the admin department on USS Jason, and in 1990 he was part of the Counseling & Assistance Center / Drug & Alcohol Advisor Office on the USS Independence.
