On April 26, 1987, 14-year-old Kerrick L. Majors was abducted. The next day he was found dead in a grassy lot behind a Walgreens in East Nashville. He was naked, bound, and tortured.

Kerrick Lemar Majors, born in 1972 to Deborah and John Majors, had four siblings: one sister, Catherine, and three brothers — Kelly, Darryl, and Gregory. Despite being only 4'11" and 112 lbs at the age of 14, Kerrick was a friendly student who enjoyed school and never found himself in trouble.

On the evening of April 26, 1987, at around 8:30 pm, Kerrick and four friends were strolling through his neighborhood, exploring a small impromptu flea market located in an abandoned lot at 2620 Gallatin Road (now Gallatin Pike). While browsing the market, Kerrick and his friends encountered a table operated by Robert R. Brewington Jr., Donald R. Middlebrooks, and Donald’s wife, Tammy Middlebrooks.

Robert R. Brewington, a 16-year-old homeless runaway from Nashville, had spent most of his life in foster homes and had a lengthy juvenile criminal record.
